whistling beetle’s two directors, roz park and graham workman have a wealth of expertise in conservation, ecology, countryside management and environmental education.  other specialist staff are also employed on a project by project basis. this allows the consultancy to undertake a broad range of environmental/ecological projects.

roz park

roz graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 1994 with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology and has worked as a local government ecologist since 1995. during this time she has also gained an MSc in countryside management. she is a full member of the institute of ecology and environmental management and a Chartered Environmentalist.

her current post of senior ecologist involves consideration of all issues affecting wildlife.  this requires detailed evaluation of planning proposals and their impact on wildlife and working with developers to provide appropriate mitigation for their proposals.  the necessity to assess projects for their impact on protected species or sites of importance for nature conservation means roz has to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and planning guidelines.  other aspects of her work include the development of biodiversity action plans and leading a group in the production of a strategy for the management of invasive weed species.

graham workman

graham has over 30 years experience in conservation and countryside management both overseas and in the UK.  he has travelled extensively studying many aspects of conservation both in paid positions and voluntary.  this hands on involvement in the development and implementation of conservation projects has provided opportunities to work with a variety of international and national wildlife organisations.

graham's current post of wildlife and countryside development manager entails the strategic management of country parks, local nature reserves and sites of biological importance. he is responsible for the development, production and implementation of site management plans, habitat management plans, local biodiversity action plans, interpretation strategies, environmental education strategies, site and species surveys, grant applications, species conservation and control.
